| ^^^ I finished reading The Princess Bride, and I would definitely recommend it! Currently, I am in the process of reading the third Chronicles of Narnia book: The Horse and His Boy by C.S. Lewis.
I'm finished with high school, and it's pretty much fabulous! It's kind of odd to see two of my siblings still having to do school, while I just take some time in my life to relax and have fun, yet it's quite wonderful. :) We spent about 3 weeks in CO this summer, and that was grand: lots of driving, walking/hiking, sitting around the campfire, looking at beautiful scenery, reading some books, plus, fishing a couple of times and going to a rodeo. Here are a FEW pictures from the trip:
After that trip, we spent a weekend in TX for an extended fam. reunion. That was pretty cool/interesting. It was neat to meet relatives that I didn't know I had. The horseback riding was much fun, and the good ol' southern food was yummy. Lately, I've just been spending marvelous time with my immediate family (I love them so.), and I've also taken up a babysitting job a couple times a week. Things are good..... | | |
| wow! so it seems like i haven't written on xanga since the beginning of the year!!!! craziness....life has been busy, yet memorable.... lately i've been consumed with finishing high school and attending graduations. I will have gone to five graduations total...all w/in about 1 month. Two of those are my own. I've already been down to Florida for one of my graduations, and my local one is this coming weekend. My whole immediate family is going to be there, which makes me SUPER EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE MY FAMILY, AND I LOVE IT WHEN WE'RE ALL TOGETHER!!! This weekend should be grand! i now have contacts/glasses....so that's new this year.... I did manage to finally get my driver's permit, and i've had it for about 3 months now....yet i still haven't gotten to drive b/c our family got a new truck, and i'm not exactly allowed to drive it...well....at least until i have school out of the way....I hope i'll be able to pick that up soon! summer plans: ICHTHUS and then Colorado for about 3 weeks..... after that....hhmm....we'll see i guess....most likely try to get a job: hopefully working with horses. | | |
| wow.....i think the last time i used that phrase on here was when i was "wowed" that Christmas was only 2 weeks away....and now i am saying "wow" b/c i can hardly believe that it has already come and gone....it's a new year!! 2007....what's in store for me this year?....hhmm....well...first thing that comes to mind is: GRADUATION FROM HIGH SCHOOL!! (i certainly hope that's the correct spelling....do you ever just look at a word and think you spelt it wrong somehow? anyhoo....) so yeah...getting through this last year of school is on my "list" of things to do this year.....I can hardly believe that I will soon be a HS graduate.....my, my....i also would really like to finally be able to drive....please no criticism (sp?)...i've already had enough hassle...so i'll be going to FL in May for grad and then a local grad in June. I'm excited for both! college....future plans....not sure....but i do know that now i need to get to bed....love to all....hope ya'll had a great New Year's celebration! I certainly did!!!! p.s. i got some really sweet stuff for Christmas!! I'm so blessed!! :) oh, and i bought some sweet taffy and Hawk Nelson merch. while on my/our "new year's excursion"...this new year is great already. leave me a comment and tell me how your Christmas and New Year's celebration went....i'd love to hear about them! | | |
| wowzerz....so who else besides me can hardly believe that Christmas is less than 2 weeks away?! and....i haven't even started my shopping yet! YIKES!! but...i think i'll be able to get most, if not all, of it done this weekend....while trying to mix it in amongst babysitting and two Christmas parties....at least i'm pretty sure that i know what i'm getting certain people....on a different note....we went to my sister's grad recognition ceremony this past weekend; it went well. it was good to have the whole fam there to celebrate her accomplishments from getting her master's degree.....man, she's finishing her "second set" (i know that's not really the right phrase) of college goings, and i'm still trying to decide if i even want to start the "first set" of college....too many decisions....basically...what it all comes down to is this: getting older sucks....i wish i was still a "kid" in society's eyes....b/c i sure still feel/act like one... | | |
| k, so we picked out our lovely fraisher (sp?) fur Christmas tree last night. (nothing but the real kind) It smells wonderful, and we love its hugeness....we decorated it tonight and had some grand family time (except 2 members of the fam couldn't be here :( sadness) listening to: Alabama Christmas, Christmas with the Oak Ridge Boys, some kids Christmas stuff, A Kenny and Dolly Christmas, etc. loads of fun and Christmas memories and traditions! | | |
